A circular story
The circular story starts as early as the work sites. Both our own departments and external partners deliver their waste streams to us. With our advanced crushing installations, equipped with magnetic separators and wind sifters, we process this waste into COPRO-approved granulates. In this way, Devagro contributes to a circular economy.
From quay to customer
After the crushing process, the granulates are loaded onto the ship that departs from our quay in Harelbeke in the direction of Ghent. Our partner Transferium, located in the Ghent seaport, ensures that the raw materials get from the ship to the customer in Evergem. There, the aggregates are used in the site's roads, thus making the circular process complete.
Saving transport of 1,400 trucks
With our own quay in Harelbeke, the choice of shipping as a means of transport was obvious. Because of this choice, we take no fewer than 1,400 trucks off the road. Moreover, the emissions per ton-kilometer are about 20 times lower by barge than by truck. In addition to the financial advantage for the customer, transport by barge offers numerous social advantages. For example, there is a lot less road congestion, which only benefits congestion avoidance and strain on the road infrastructure.
